Former Counsel for the Northwest Power and Conservation Council Joins Karnopp Petersen

John Ogan has joined Karnopp Petersen’s Indian Law group, bringing with him a wealth of experience and knowledge in one of the firm’s key practice areas.

John OganThroughout his career, John Ogan has focused on the management of natural resources.  This focus led to John’s initial expansion into and a long history of working in the area of Indian Law.

Most recently, John served as Senior Counsel for the Northwest Power and Conservation Council.  Prior to that, he was a partner at Cockrill, Weaver & Ogan in Yakima, WA.  John relocated to Central Oregon in August 2006 specifically to join Karnopp Petersen’s Indian Law section.

John received his law degree from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College in 1994, graduating cum laude and earning a certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law.  In 1988, John received his B.S. from Oregon State University, and spent the years prior to his entry into law school as a fisheries biologist for the State of Oregon.
