Josh Newton
Professional Experience
Josh was born and raised in Yreka, California. After graduating from Oregon State University in 1995, Josh attended law school at Willamette University, receiving his law degree in 1998. Before joining Karnopp Petersen LLP in 2000, Josh served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable David V. Brewer of the Oregon Court of Appeals.
Josh’s practice emphasizes general commercial litigation,
real estate litigation, construction litigation and appellate
law. He also works with clients to address issues in water
rights and natural resources law.

Josh is the co-author of Contracts Created by Agreement and Contracts Created by Operation of Law, CONTRACT LAW IN OREGON 2003 Revision (OSB CLE), Amended and Supplemental Pleadings, OREGON CIVIL PLEADINGS AND PRACTICE 2006 Revision (OSB CLE), and Amended and Supplemental Pleadings, OREGON CIVIL PLEADINGS AND PRACTICE 2001 Supp. (OSB CLE).
Josh is a member of the Oregon State Bar, the J.R. Campbell American Inns of Court, and the Deschutes County Bar Association. He is also the Chair of the Oregon New Lawyers Division of the Oregon State Bar for 2007.
